BBQ Venison

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/4 cup onion
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 pounds venison steaks

Bring all ingredients to boil, except steaks. Simmer gently afterwards for five minutes over low heat. Prepare meat by trimming fat. Pound meat with wooden mallet to tenderize on bottom of roasting pan, put a layer of sauce, layer of meat, etc., until all of both are used up. Cook in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. Can also be used in crockpot, simmering on low for 10-12 hours.
